Infatuated Rebel

 Final Graduation Fashion Collection

at Raffles College of Higher Education

“Infatuated Rebel” was inspired by the combination of artworks by Ernesto Artillo & Graffiti Artist. With the modern minimalism aura of Ernesto’s artworks to the rebellious tranquility of graffiti, I created a collection. Both of these inspirations merge together seamlessly as both are empowered to send out a clear passionate message. The common ground I’ve found in both inspirations was their devotion for expressing love in their artworks.  Therefore, I came up with the idea of embroidering the words “Mad Notion” & “Brisk Intimacy”, onto my garment in graffiti fonts in both of which was taken from famous quotes about love. With Ernesto’s concept of collages & the over saturated colour scheme of his artworks, I created various cut lines using different fabrics and decided on a pastel colour scheme with a pop of colour. The urban street style of graffiti artist inspired the character represented in my collection. Combining all these aspects, I created my collection called “Infatuated Rebel”.

Its been quite a while. Many events had occurred since I last wrote. In a span of 4 months, so many things had happened which included big milestones in my life.

I finally graduated from college and now I've officially completed my Advanced Diploma in Fashion Designing. Graduation day went by so fast. It was like morning rehearsal, afternoon getting ready for the fashion show, evening getting ready with our makeup & hair, night time convocation then after fashion show. And just like that it was all over. The night ended with a bunch of bouquet flowers, my finished collection and a whole lot of photos to commemorate the night. Nonetheless to say, I feel very thankful & blessed to have each one of my family members & friends who supported me throughout my 2 years of studying. Going through this ceremony together with the people who I care about the most and are the most important to me, was everything I could have asked for.

Through those three months of sheer dedication made the day very worth it. It makes it a bit weird now that I am not doing anything like that at all. I told myself that I'm gonna take a break for a while. I'm giving myself 3 months to just chill and relax. And after those 3 months, I'm gonna hustle again. I'm having a good time now. I'm going to the gym (I am trying to be consistent at least), spending time with family, trying to post more on my blog, doing some part time jobs, and focusing on trying to refresh myself.

I also feel a little bit lost in all this post-graduate thing. I mean, being free is one thing but being free also means that you start to think a lot about what to do next and where to start. And truth is, I don't know where to start. I don't know where to apply, where I want to go, what exactly I want to do. But most of all, whether I'll admit it to myself or not I'm terrified. I'm scared to get into the whole adulting thing of working hours, loans and bills. I'm at this awkward age where I'm only 20 which is a little bit too young and a little old. I started studying so early and all my friends still have at least  2 years of their lives till they complete their degree. I guess its a good thing, that means I'm ahead, but it also means I'm not quite ready. I at least certainly don't feel like I am. Although I really have to really soon. And I guess its a good kind of scared, the excited kind. A chapter is closing, but a big exciting one awaits.

So that was the update, if your reading till here thank you. I hope you found this a good read in any way possible.
